Once upon a time, in a village near the forest, there lived a sweet little girl named Little Red Riding Hood. She always wore a red hooded cloak made by her grandmother, which is why everyone called her Little Red Riding Hood. One day, her mother said, “Take this basket of goodies to your grandmother. She’s not feeling well.”
Little Red Riding Hood was excited to visit her Granny. She put on her red cloak, took the basket, and set off through the forest. As she walked, she enjoyed the sunshine and the singing birds 🌞🐦. Along the way, she picked some beautiful flowers to give to her grandmother 💐.
As she was picking flowers, a big, bad Wolf suddenly appeared 🐺. He was hungry and thought, “This little girl looks delicious.” But he didn’t want to scare her, so he asked sweetly,
“Where are you going, little girl?”
Little Red Riding Hood replied,
“I’m going to my granny’s house to give her this basket of goodies. She’s not feeling well.”
The Wolf thought to himself, “Aha! I’ll get to the granny’s house first and eat her up. Then, I’ll wait for the girl and have her for dessert.” He said to Little Red Riding Hood,
“What a lovely idea! Where does your granny live?”
Not knowing the Wolf was planning something bad, Little Red Riding Hood innocently told him,
“She lives in the little house at the end of this path, just past the big oak tree.”
The Wolf said,
“Thank you, little girl. Why don’t you pick some more flowers for your granny? She will love them.”
Then, he ran off as fast as he could 🏃♂️.
The Wolf reached Granny’s house first. He knocked on the door and Granny called out,
“Who is it?”
The Wolf disguised his voice and said,
“It’s me, Little Red Riding Hood. I’ve brought you some goodies.”
Granny replied,
“Come in, dear.”
As soon as the Wolf entered, he pounced on Granny and gobbled her up in one big gulp 😱. Then, he put on her nightgown and cap, and jumped into her bed, pulling the covers up to his chin.
A little while later, Little Red Riding Hood arrived at her Granny’s house. She noticed the door was slightly open, which was strange. She called out,
“Hello, Granny? It’s me, Little Red Riding Hood.”
The Wolf, trying to sound like Granny, replied,
“Come in, dear.”
Little Red Riding Hood went inside and saw Granny in bed, looking very strange. She walked closer and said,
“Oh, Granny, what big ears you have!”
The Wolf replied,
“The better to hear you with, my dear.”
Little Red Riding Hood took another step closer and said,
“Oh, Granny, what big eyes you have!”
The Wolf said,
“The better to see you with, my dear.”
Then, Little Red Riding Hood noticed Granny’s unusually big hands. She said,
“Oh, Granny, what big hands you have!”
The Wolf replied,
“The better to hug you with, my dear.”
Finally, Little Red Riding Hood saw Granny’s sharp teeth and said,
“Oh, Granny, what big teeth you have!”
The Wolf couldn’t hold back any longer. He jumped up and shouted,
“The better to eat you with!”
He lunged at Little Red Riding Hood.
But just then, a Hunter who was passing by heard the commotion and rushed inside 🏹. He saw the Wolf and immediately chased him away. The Wolf ran out of the house, never to be seen again.
The Hunter quickly cut open the Wolf’s belly, and out popped Granny, safe and sound. Granny hugged Little Red Riding Hood tightly and said,
“Oh, my dear, you must be careful of strangers.”
Little Red Riding Hood learned an important lesson that day. She promised never to talk to strangers again and always to follow her mother’s instructions.
